Let's be honest. There are no perfect people just as there are no perfect friends. A friend is sometimes the worst enemy that you could have because your friend knows all your secret and once things go wrong, you could be at the mercy of your friend. If you have a bad past, chances are that your friend could sing it to her other friends. Which makes it tough for you. As a friend who knows you and who has been with you for some time, she could either ruin you or make things hard for you.

This is the reason why, you must not bare all to your friend. Remember that a friend is good for as long as you and your friend are in good terms. But watch out for conflicts and grudges that may come. This would be the start of your problem. As much as possible limit what you have to tell you friend to avoid being in trouble in the future.

If your friend cheats you and want to ruin you, leave that friend alone. There are lots of people to befriend but be careful next time. Make sure that the next time you have a friend, do not bare all. Keep some things for yourself to protect yourself. Don't let every secret be open to your friend.

This is my life

Waking up early trying to catch up for the days work, I find it very refreshing. I would prepare my coffee and sit down to watch the news on television then pitch in some fixing and sweeping just to clear the house of the dust accumulated on that day. There’s not much to clean and clear as there are no children to mess around, just my seventeen year old son who sits down only to play computer games or watch television.

Since I go to work only in the afternoon lately, I have always time to work on my computer before going to work. This is the kind of life I have. Just working on my blogs when I am not at work and sorting some things at home once in a while. There are enough things to do to fill the days as they come by.

Could life be so boring as my life? No, I don’t consider my life boring. I do things that make me busy and forget that I don’t have a life that is as exciting as other people do. I don’t have many friends that I could go out with. Besides I prefer to sit in front of my computer and tap the keys to write about something. I do go out from time to time with my sister and my friends but it is not so often.

Perhaps being happy and content in life depends on the person. I am content with my simple life and I live enjoying the simple things around me. I write to give spice to my everyday activities and I play with the kids that I teach to make me happy and alive. The days that I am with the children are days that I could never forget. The things that they say and do are sometimes wonders that me wonder at times. There are things that sometimes puzzle me when children speak on their own. It is sometimes very hard to answer their questions.

But they are the spice of my life!

I was thinking of the best gifts to give to a love one on Valentine's Day. Perhaps the best gift to give to a love one is still something that could not be bought. Material things are of course very good gifts but the more important things in life other than material things are still the best gifts to give to a love one.

Why not try something new for your love one on Valentine's Day. If you have been spending your Valentine's Day in the past in expensive restaurants and movies. Then try a new one. In this time of recession, everybody is trying to save a penny for tomorrow and celebrating Valentine's Day could be fun and exciting with your own creation.

Make dinner at home and share it with your partner. Put off all the lights and light a candle then put on some soft music and enjoy dinner like you were in an exclusive restaurant fit only for those moneyed people. Just have a simple dinner with your love one in a romantic setting just inside your dining room. Set the room like you are in a special place and feel the love aglow with only both of you enjoying the night and having the time all to yourselves. It would make a difference in your relationship and it would make your partner feel even closer to you if you have mad an effort to prepare the food that your partner loves. And with a different setting from the regular day to day setting, you would both feel different.

Your creativity would help make the night romantic for both of you even just inside your home. Create something different to experience while having a hearty meal with your partner. Talk about things that are pleasant and make sure you have a good laugh with your partner. Laughing is something relishing when shared with your partner and it is good for the health. As you look into each others eyes, remember the first time you dated when you almost drowned in joy.

Everyday must be a new day for both of you if you know how to please your partner. Even in the simplest way that your partner would feel happy, like preparing food or doing things for your love one. A massage at the back if your partner is tired and a nice story to tell when you both sit down and talk.

Forget about expensive material things to give on Valentine's Day, just remember to do something especial that your love one will appreciate and enjoy..

What is Christmas?

As the cold wind sweeps our face and greets us, Christmas time is just around the corner and everybody is busy preparing for the coming of our Savior. Christmas they say is a time for giving and sharing. It is also a time to show love to others. But what is Christmas for those who have nothing to share and give? It is ironic to think that while other people are rushing to fill there homes with lovely decorations and food to share during the Christmas day, a million people around are penniless, homeless, naked and lonely.

What would Christmas be for a family who could barely have a complete meal for a day? Isn't it everybody's wish to have a hearty meal during the midnight of December 24? Isn't it everybody's wish for Santa Claus to come and give them food on Christmas? What is Santa Claus doing in the land of snow?

Christmas, yes Christmas is for those who have money. Christmas isn't at all kind to those penniless people on the streets. Yet they have something that no amount of money could buy. They have the determination to live a life they think is right for them. They live with the left overs of people around them and yet they have a smile on their faces. The children laugh and run and chase each other. They have a way of enjoying life.

Christmas will come and go and for those poor people out there, there is no difference at all if it is Christmas or not, for they live everyday in the same manner. Perhaps for one meal they could be spared a fried chicken or a piece of pizza but all the same, they stay penniless for the rest of their lives. Unless someone would bring them real good luck and they would be spared from their miseries.

I don't understand what Christmas means but I just know, Christmas is what people call sharing and giving. The only sad thing is, we never share what we have with the poor people out there who need them.

Hi Everybody. I've missed all of you!

Been busy with other activities that I didn't have time to drop by and say hello. I've been surfing almost everyday finding ways to have an income through internet but all i could see are surveys and countless money making ideas that I can't begin to comprehend. I still doubt those sites that claim you could sit and wait for money to grow in your website. A friend advised me to have business instead with ebay if I want to make money online. All the other sites according to her will pay but it takes too much time and effort before one could really get paid. I don't even know where to start. Maybe I would just stick to my article writing at Helium. I have a good time writing in this site. I am learning a lot while writing.

I had been teaching young children for more than twenty years and recently I felt I needed a short break from work. I did have a very pleasant holiday with my family in a place I consider paradise. It was such a lovely place that I wanted it known to everyone. With all the nature around the place I really felt so refreshed and different.

Now that I'm totally refreshed, I have to go back to work and deal with the little children. I love teaching young ones because I know what children are. They could be real nasty to enrage you but the next moment they make you smile the sweetest smile and make you hug them tightly. These are what children are. I have a way of making children laugh and behave. I teach them to be good and to be real nice people and if a child lies, I explain when lying is not good.

A teacher's job is something very challenging. A teacher must be everything she should be. A mother, a sister, a friend, a nursemaid, a janitor and even a clown. She could also act as a disciplinarian when the need arises and could be a guidance counselor to those who need it. Living the life of a teacher has been real exciting and challenging to me. I wouldn't exchange being a teacher for young children with anything else in this world.

Short Break From Work

Hello everybody. Just got back from a few days holiday in a place I consider a paradise. Being away from work means relaxation for me. It is a time to relax and rest. Having a few days off from work means recharging before going back to the daily hectic schedule that many of us are doing. Working is part of life and we cannot set aside our job because it is our way of providing for our needs but sometimes we need a break from the tedious work. And what we need is a short holiday,

I had a very beautiful experience during my short holiday. I went to a place that I cannot describe with just a few superlatives. It was really, really lovely and the place was still unadulterated. I only hope the place would remain as simple as that and no one would think of changing it. That was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. It was a resort between very high mountains. If you are in the place you forget all the chaos happening around and the problems about Mother Earth. This is where you could feel the true essence of life.
If you are working too hard, try having a break and enjoy life with nature. There is no joy in living if we take life seriously and engross ourselves working without relaxation. Life is such a beautiful thing and only when we look at the simple things in life could we appreciate the real beauty of living. Take a break from work, find a place to have a short holiday and try experiencing something different. You won't regret it. What you will regret is when you miss out on the things that you should have done and enjoyed.

When Lying is not Good

Do you ever lie to your partner, your friend or your parents? Lying could be good only if it could benefit someone you are lying to. When someone lies, he has a purpose in it. But when one lies only to cover up a wrong done then it could be a bad habit that needs to be corrected.

You can lie if you know that it would keep someone happy. Like when you are going on a dangerous journey and you want your love one not to worry too much about you. But when you lie and tell your partner that you visited your parents when in fact you visited another woman, then that is not something to reconsider. Lies can ruin relationships. When one lies, he is going in the wrong path. Lying that becomes habitual is not good.

As early as possible, try correcting the bad habit. There are lies that are understandable and there are lies that are considered sins and crimes. To save someone with lies is often good but it does have also its bad effects on the person. When you keep covering up the wrongs done by that person, that person will keep repeating the same mistakes. Unless you take a step correcting that person, lying for that person will only shove him deeper in his mistakes.

There is always the right time to lie. Just don’t overdo it. Think of lying as something to patch up misunderstandings but never to cover up a crime.

Falling In Love the second Time

When you fail in your love life the first time, don't give up hope and tell yourself that you will never ever love again. Loving and losing is better than having not loved at all. We feel so frustrated and down whenever we lost someone we dearly love but remember there is always a second, third and fourth chance when we fail for the first time. And loving the next time will surely be better than the first.

As you grow older, you would realize that loving is such a beautiful experience in life. There is no age limit when it comes to love. Even old people are capable of loving and the more you love the more you would feel younger. Older people are often advised to keep loving in order for their hearts to function better and live a longer life. if you have no partner now and you are reaching old age, try to find a partner to keep you alert everyday and to keep you alive. By doing that you would be helping yourself become healthier and happier.

If you failed the first time in love, loving the second time around would be better as you learned from your mistakes and you would be more careful to make your love life work the second time. Let the past be forgotten and never compare your previous partner to your new partner. The best thing to do is make the relationship work by talking to your partner and knowing him better. Second time love should work out better if you truly make yourself understand the essence of loving. Giving space enough for your partner is very important but don't tolerate him to cheat on you nor abuse you.

Learn from you past experience and let that be a guiding star for you to handle your relationship with your new love one better than the past.

Sixties Yet Enjoying Life

If you are sixty, don't think you are too old to enjoy life. Today on your sixtieth birthday is the day you should be grateful that you have reached that age. It is high time you forget about worries and start a life you haven't experienced when you were younger. I'm not yet sixty, I have still a long time to reach this age but I do have a lot of friend who are in their sixties and I envy them because they are a bunch of young-looking, happy-go-lucky oldies, who look at life just like they are in their twenties. They seem to not age as they frolick and hop to enjoy their everyday life.

I look at them as people who know what they want in life. They usually have lunches, dinners, and breakfasts together and talk about their younger days when they were all very young and still depending on their parents to give them their daily allowances. One of them remembered how they used to escape late at night to have their gimmicks. And their trick? They cover their pillows on the bed and make them appear like persons sleeping. That way their parents will think they are sound asleep in their rooms when the truth is they are out somewhere having secret trysts with their friends. They were all so attached together that even in old age they still stick together as one.

Life is so short on earth that when one takes it so seriously and live a life consuming all the negatives that comes, it would be like living in hell. We must always put to mind what happens to us when we don't look the positive way. We sometimes look at things the wrong way and end up being frustrated and discouraged in life. But when we try to look the other way, life would be far better than what we think. Life is what we make it and by living happily, we would indeed find life interesting and happy.

Scents and Memories

Have you ever closed your eyes while you are in a bus, a train , a plane or just sitting at home doing nothing, then trying to make your nose work and catch a smell that reminds you of something? It could remind you of a person, a place, or anything. Sometimes, you smell something that gives you a nostalgic feeling. Sometimes too, a scent that reminds you of a beloved one. And a few times, an aroma of food you loved which is associated with someone so dear to you. Scents keep our senses awake and make us alert while remembering what was that scent you just smelled.

I love the smell of pine trees. I had spent my childhood in a mountainous region where pine trees abound. The scent of pine trees around always filled the air and made my childhood even more meaningful and easy to remember. When I smell pine trees, my childhood days comes back to me. I once hopped in an air-conditioned bus that smelt of pine trees. I closed my eyes and my childhood memories came flashing back. The smell helped transport my mind in the past.

Scents do remind us with good and bad memories. Sometimes I shed tears when I smell a very familiar scent related to a sad past. It really makes me feel the impact of what happened in the past. The smell of something relevant to a happy past would make me smile even if I am alone. Pancakes being cooked always reminds me of my grandmother who was a great cook. She always cooked pancake with mushed ripe bananas. I couldn't forget how all of us her grandchildren always visited her because of her special banana pancakes. When I grew older and I cooked banana pancake, it seemed so different from what grandmother cooked for us. I wanted to believe that what she cooked was the same as mine but to be honest I haven't tasted any pancake that could match that of my grandmother's.

Scents are very important reminders. When we want to remember something in the past we could associate them with the smell of something.

The Real Meaning of Fulfillment

Fulfillment doesn't necessarily mean being a very successful person. Fulfillment depends upon how an individual looks and judges the situation. Sometimes fulfillment means just feeling happy and content with whatever you have and whatever kind of life you have. Even a very poor person could feel fulfillment. On the other hand, a very wealthy man could be unfulfilled even with almost everything he has.

When one is fulfilled, he is happy even with the simple things he has. Sometimes it is better to be poor yet have a fulfilling life rather than having everything in life but unfulfilled. To be fulfilled, one must not crave for things he cannot have. Never wish for things that are impossible to obtain as it will only lead to frustrations. Aim and dream for attainable objectives and you could be better fulfilled. It is not bad to dream but when you are asking for too much and aiming for the impossible, fulfillment could never be achieved.

The secret to a fulfilling life is setting goals that are likely to be achieved by you. A man could never find fulfillment if he wishes to have everything in life. Man never ceases to crave for something. There are no limits in one's likes in this world. If one really puts no limits in what he wants, he would end up being frustrated if his likes are not fulfilled. Keep a list of the important things that you want to have. And try your best to obtain them. Keep you dreams simple so that you could achieve them and be content with what you have.

It is feeling happy and contented that expresses the true meaning of fulfillment. Fulfillment is not measured in terms of wealth but in terms of how you feel about your life, whether you feel happy or contented.

The Best Things I know About Him

Do you know your man enough? Relationships often end up a failure because partners do not know each other. There are times when we thought we know our partners very well that we make drastic decisions and we often commit the worst mistake in our life. And before we know it we are already committed to someone who is the opposite of the man we are looking for. Living with someone who doesn't match the man you had expected is like living with an enemy. And before that thing will happen make sure you are not going out with a con man, a man who shows nothing of his real self and who makes you feel like the most important woman in this wold.

He was the nicest person I'd ever known. He wasn't really the man of my dreams when I met him but he made me feel like a real woman. I was flattered by his charms. He looked so genuinely nice and a real gentleman, keeping me company when the need arises, letting me have the bigger share of everything. The things that I want were also what he wanted. We never fought over something and we spent a lot of romantic moments. Often, he would call in the wee hours of the night just to say I love you. He never fails to say I'm sorry when he has done something wrong. Sometimes I don't even understand why he is asking for an apology. With all those nice things I know about him, he was able to fool me.

He provided me with the things I loved and needed then dumped me like a garbage. I once thought he was not the man I had known but he was there looking down at me and telling me how sorry he was that everything between us had to end. Just like that! There seems to be nothing left for me to say that moment. As I studied his face, I knew pretty well that since the start he had planted a thorn in me to uproot once it was embedded too deep to hurt. I waited for myself to burst out the pain but nothing happened. I was numbed and felt nothing at all. He held my hand and tried to say sorry again but I finally came to my senses. I didn't cry. I raised a hand and let it land with a loud smack on his face. Then ran away without looking back at him.

Beware of a man who shows perfect manners,who never speaks a word even if you are in your worst moods. He might be like the man I almost loved. A healthy relationship is one with the proper ingredients. A relationship is better if partners make mistakes, feel jealous at the right time, fight with each other once in a while and have different opinions about some things. Partners feel more comfortable with each other if they are open to discussions and are honest enough to comment on their partners when needed.

Love? They say that a person in love is blind. Blind of all the realities that comes with loving someone. But is love really blind? No. Love is not blind but the lovers are. When one is in love, she sees nothing wrong with the one she loves. She looks at his partner as a perfect person who is right even if he is wrong. She looks at him as the most wonderful man even if he is not. Wrong things often turn out to be right to someone in love and what is bad becomes good and the ugly becomes beautiful.

But setting aside the blindness in love, one could only tell she is in love if she looks at both sides of the coin. She must look at the person as he really is and try to understand him even in his flaws and shortcomings. Being in love is accepting the person with what he is and what he has and not trying to change him to be a better person to your liking. True love accepts the wrongs in a person and understands situations that sometimes others could not comprehend at all.

When one is truly in love, she looks at things in the bright side and sets aside the darker side of situations. It is not ignoring the wrongs being committed but it is accepting them and truly trying to understand them. Loving means being honest enough to look at the wrong things in your partner and accepting them rather than insisting on a change. Changing your partner doesn't work and is not what true love is all about. If you love, be ready to accept what your partner is. For there is no sweeter thing on earth than being in love and feeling real love.
